Christine + Miguel – Cummer Museum and Gardens – Jacksonville Florida
Our Southern Charm Events team loved working with Christine and Miguel for this beautiful eclectic wedding at the Cummer Museum of Art and Gardens.
Just like the couple this wedding was adorbs! Filled with light, love and personal touches. The are some of the most kind-hearted people we have ever met.
They had booked the Cummer Museum for the magnificent gardens; unfortunately after some damage across North Florida from Hurricane Matthew the gardens had lost some of the charm but we made the most of it.
Christine’s father played a huge part in the décor of the wedding. He created a wonderful stained glass Welcome sign with the couple’s name and wedding date that greeted guests as they arrived; as well as a series of light houses for the reception décor.
Christine looked breathtaking in her sheer organza ballgown with a lace applique bodice and sheer cap sleeves. There powder blue Steve Madden pumps were the perfect something blue.
Her bridal bouquet incorporated shades of pink that ranged from the palest possible pink through antique, and fuchsia to a deep raspberry and almost burgundy shade; with pops of greenery and rust.
The rich colors added charm to the invitation suite, boutonnieres and the attire of the wedding party into the reception and even the wedding cake; everything was tied together with this luxurious collection of colors.
The wedding ceremony was held in the gardens under the shade of mature trees, along the banks of the St Johns River. Simple garden chairs with clusters of greenery and flowers lining the aisle.
After exchanging their wedding vows the couple and their guests crossed the gardens for cocktails enjoying a lounge area set with vintage furnishing on an antique rug and the sculptures of the gardens.
The outdoor event space looked spectacular lined with long natural wood tables set with gold chargers and flatware, vintage amber glass goblets, gold footed bowls with flowers cascading from them and the stained glass light houses designed by Christine’s father.
This charming, eclectic look was even more spectacular as the sun set on the river with the glow of the lighthouses and the twinkling market lights.
After the couple’s first dance and dinner guest enjoyed a night of dance, lawn games and sweet treats. Salted Caramel Cheesecake Bites, Brownie Cupcake Bites, Funfetti Cake Pops, Key Lime Pie Shooters and a coffee bar kept guests energized for a night of dancing.
The night ended with Christine and Miguel cutting their wedding cake overflowing with colorful flowers swirled into the buttercream frosting; it looked like a vintage oil painting.
Congratulations to the new Mr. and Mrs. we loved being part of your magical day.
Thank you to the awesome team of vendors who brought this day to life
