Katherine + Kevin's Bowing Oaks Wedding

Today, we are so excited for you to meet Katherine and Kevin! They met when she was a junior and he was a senior in high school. But, they didn’t connect again until a family party at his aunt and uncle’s house five years ago. Since, they’ve been inseparable, and we like to think we’re all better as a result of their coupling!

When Katherine and Kevin first started planning their wedding, no one could have predicted a pandemic was about to upend everyone’s plans. But, K+K handed postponing their original May 9 wedding day with complete grace. If we had to choose just one bright spot, it has to be getting to spend more time with them! When Katherine and Kevin’s wedding day at Bowing Oaks Plantation arrived, we were thrilled for them to (finally!) experience their celebration. 

Katherine said when she and Kevin first toured Bowing Oaks Plantation, they knew immediately it was where they were meant to wed. The both loved the gorgeous oak trees, and they were also drawn to the open atmosphere and farmhouse vibe. Another wonderful benefit of Bowing Oaks Plantation is the long ceremony aisle! Walking down the aisle and admiring the “additional botanical flair”, as Katherine calls it, that her dad, a landscape architect, added was one of her favorite moments of the day. 

Katherine and Kevin also loved working with their team of wedding professionals. And, we did too! Katherine said 424 Creative deserves a special award after designing invitations, postponement cards, and new invitations. We agree – 424 Creative did an incredible job, as did the rest of their team. 

Whether it was witnessing Katherine’s first look with her bridesmaids and then her dad in her beautiful wedding dress from Debra’s Bridal or watching as Kevin spun Katherine around the dance floor, we could not have felt more joyful for this sweet pair. They are two of the kindest people, and we feel so fortunate to have been able to bring their dream wedding day to life – pandemic or not!
