Karlie + Frank's Club Continental Wedding
Our Southern Charm Events team had the most incredible time working with Karlie and Frank who hosted their wedding at the historic Continental Club in Orange Park.
Located on the banks of the St. John’s River, this Mediterranean mansion with stucco walls, beautiful arches and red tile roof was built in 1923 as the winter home to the heir of Palmolive Soap Company.
This private club boasts 300 year old oak trees draped in Spanish moss, beautiful gardens and sweeping lawns; the perfect location for Karlie and Frank’s wedding ceremony.
Their custom wedding invitations reflected the elegant opulent wedding with the deep, rich floral tones and shimmering gold. The couple wanted to reflect the old world feel of the historic wedding venue and include gold and other metallic tones.
The couple relaxed and prepared for their big day in the club’s guest rooms and anxiously awaited their first look in the shade of the giant trees.
A custom gold monogrammed aisle runner lead Karlie, escorted by her parents to her anxiously waiting groom. The riverfront set the backdrop for the couple to exchange their rings and handfasting ceremony in an unplugged wedding ceremony, allowing guests to enjoy the moment.
Karlie looked amazing in her simple cap sleeve lace wedding gown with a crystal belt, and a thin shimmering headband. Her bouquet was designed using garden roses, deep colored scabiosa and thick textural greenery and was the perfect accompaniment to her gown. Frank’s classic cut tuxedo was accented with a boutonniere in rich tones found in Karlie’s bouquet.
Guest enjoyed the breathtaking outdoor courtyard spaces during the cocktail reception which included a collection of our vintage Southern Charm Events soft lounge furniture.
The couple opened their wedding reception with a fun, perfectly choreographed first dance.
The club’s Fireplace Room with its nine-foot mantle, exposed beams and historic artwork were accented with shimmering linen, metallic toned chivari ballroom chairs and charger plates as well as vintage candelabras and mercury glass candleholders.
Beautiful glass compotes overflowed with lush fall greenery, and flowers in rich cream tones with accents of ruby and burgundy.
After an amazing evening of dinner and dancing the couple cut this spectacular three-tiered naked wedding cake brushed with gold leaf and accented with a few perfectly placed flowers.
Frank and his family are jewelers, which is how the couple met. Karlie thought this show stopping geode groom’s cake would be an awesome focal point for the delicious dessert buffet. The perfect surprise for Frank.
Congratulations Karlie and Frank, we know you enjoyed your fabulous wedding day!
